Trade between Azerbaijan, Croatia increases more than two-fold

The foreign trade operations between Azerbaijan and Croatia amounted to $210.2 million from January through May 2020, which is almost 2.5 times more than in the same period of last year, Trend reports referring to the statistical bulletin of the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee.

According to the data, the export of Azerbaijani products to Croatia from January through May 2020 made up $209.7 million, while a year earlier – only $86.4 million.

Croatia increased volume of purchase of the products from Azerbaijan by over 2.4 times year-on-year. Croatia’s share in the total export volume of Azerbaijan increased by 2 percent.

The import of Croatian products to Azerbaijan declined year-on-year by over 2.4 times to $546,000. The share of Croatia in the total import volume of Azerbaijan plunged two-fold to 0.01 percent of the total volume.

From January through May 2020, the prevalence of export over import of Azerbaijani products to Croatia increased.

In the first five months of 2019, export made up 98.5 percent, whilst in the same period of the current year this indicator increased to 99.8 percent.

In turn, the share of Croatian products in import to Azerbaijan dipped to 0.2 percent.

Thus, the balance of foreign trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Croatia during the reporting period more than doubled and amounted to $209.2 million.

The total foreign trade turnover of Azerbaijan amounted to $11.1 billion from January through May 2020, which is 22.9 percent less than in the same period of 2019.

The balance of foreign trade turnover on an annualized basis increased by 0.9 percent and remained positive, amounting to $2.8 billion.
