Kazakhstan's oats export down, year-on-year

Kazakhstan’s export of wheat and meslin amounted to $239.1 million in 1Q2020, which compared to $300.1 million in 1Q2019 indicates a slight decrease year—on-year, Trend reports with reference to the Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

In turn, export of barley stood at 408,202 tons worth $75.2 million, which is compared to 674,908 tons worth $128.1 million in 1Q2019.

Oats export from Kazakhstan amounted to 2,258 tons worth ($343.1 million), which indicates a decrease compared to 10,626 tons worth $1.9 million in 1Q2019.

Kazakhstan’s export of corn amounted to 18,102 tons worth $3.8 million, which also indicates a decrease compared to 27,162 tons worth $5 million in 1Q2019.

Rice export amounted to 25,861 tons worth $7.1 million in 1Q2020, which is slightly less than 26,123 tons worth $7.2 million in 1Q2019.

Furthermore, Kazakhstan’s buckwheat export was 2,584 tons worth $1.2 million in 1Q2020, which also is slightly less in volume but more in value than 2,851 tons worth $854,000 in 1Q2019.

Kazakhstan’s agriculture, forestry and fishery gross output amounted to 934.4 billion tenge ($2.3 billion) over first five months of 2020, which is 2.2 percent more compared to the same period of the last year.

Some 923.2 billion tenge ($2.2 billion) accounted for agriculture alone including 44.4 billion ($110.2 million) accounting for plant growing, and 878.5 billion tenge ($2.1 billion) - for animal husbandry.
