Iran exports major part of non-oil products to neighboring countries

Iran exports 60 percent of non-oil products to the neighboring countries, Deputy Minister of Industry, Mining and Trade of Iran and Head of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI) Hamid Zadboum said, Trend reports citing the ministry.

The deputy minister noted that this is statistical data for first three months of the current Iranian year (March 20-June 20, 2020). In total, Iran exported $6.3 billion worth of products during three months.

Zadboum added that Iran's foreign trade amounted to 30.8 million tons worth $13.9 billion during the reporting period.

The head stressed that the exported products were mainly copper, iron and steel ingots, petrochemicals, methanol, urea and polyethylene.

“The products exports increased by 2 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year,” he said.

During first four months of the current Iranian year, the country exported more than 30 million tons of non-oil products worth $8.71 billion. The top five main countries importing from Iran were China, Iraq, the UAE, Afghanistan and Turkey.

During the reporting period, Iran imported 12 million tons of products worth $10.9 billion, mainly from China, the UAE, Turkey, India and Germany.
