BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 20
By Tamilla Mammadova – Trend:
Georgia will export about 300 tons of fresh pinecones to the EU market in 2020, Trend reports via Georgian media.
Farmers have already finished collecting pinecones in Racha Region.
The 2020 harvest demonstrates special qualitative characteristics and this factor grows the products’ exports potential and value.
Every year Georgia exports 45 million pine trees to Europe. Some 90 percent of these trees are grown by Caucasian Fir Tree seeds taken from Racha Region.
Primary export markets are Germany, the Netherlands, France, and Great Britain. It should be noted that the European market is interested in not only seedlings but also a distribution of planted and cut pine trees.
