SSA Food Meals compound feed plant will be commissioned in Kazakhstan’s Almaty region before the end of 2020, Trend reports citing the regional akimat (administrative center).
The akimat’s report said that notwithstanding the global COVID-19 pandemic the output in all region’s economy spheres was on the upside.
Thus, increase in manufacturing industry was 3.1 percent (846.7 billion tenge or $1.9 billion), in agriculture by 2.4 percent (634.6 billion tenge of $1.4 billion), in construction by 11.6 percent (208.2 billion tenge or by $486.3 million). Furthermore, 437.9 billion tenge ($1.02 billion) of investments were also attached to the regional economy which is 8.8percent more compared to the same period last year.
The state budget received 401.7 billion tenge ($938.4 million) from the region.
Two poultry farms the total capacity of which is 44,000 tons of poultry meat per year were commissioned in the region since the beginning of the year, as well as three plants that will process 219,000 tons of oilseeds a year. Also, by the end of the year, the Alatsem plant will be launched, which will annually produce 1.2 million tons of cement.
Overall, 63 projects the total cost of which is 290.3 billion tenge ($678.1 million) will be implemented in the region in 2020, which will provide for creation of nearly 4,000 jobs.
