The government should provide necessary budget to construction projects in the new Iranian year (starts March 21,2021) budget plan to complete the unfinished projects, Member of Parliament 's construction commission Alireza Pakferat told Trend.
"The share of construction budget in the current Iranian year (started March 20,2020) is 11 percent of the total budget, so it's unlikely that this volume would be assigned to construction projects in the new Iranian year (starts March 21,2021) budget plan," said Pakfetrat.
"Whenever the government has shortage of budget it would always reduce the allocations for construction sector. Unfortunately the government does not have this much funds, and the predicted budget indicates an obvious shortage," he said.
"Therefore the government submitted "the public and private partnership bill" to the parliament but since the bill was too complex, the parliament did not spent enough time on it and the whole thing did not yield any results," said Pakferat.
"The construction commission has revived the bill again and I know the budgets for municipalities are from the public budget, since the government does not directly assign budgets to big cities and many big projects go through by public participation that include the private sector," Pakferat explained.
"The architecture and urban planning committee, technical and executive system committee and the parliament construction commission are working on the bill to offer various options to the officials, ministers and governors to complete the unfinished projects. They include hospitals, dams, schools, vocational centers roads and railways," he said.
Pakferat said the government should offer motivation to the private sector so that investments could be attracted to the unfinished projects.
