Plan for restoration of small mines in Iran overfulfilled

The plan for the restoration of small mines in Iran was implemented by 113 percent since the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 20, 2020) to February 8, Executor of the plan for the restoration of small mines of Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO), Reza Azimi said, Trend reports citing the organization’s website.

The official noted that the activities of 226 mines have been restored in Iran over the reporting period. However, the activities of 200 mines are to be restored in the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2020 to March 20, 2021).

Azimi added that 2.6 trillion rials (about $61.9 million) have been spent for the restoration of these mines and 3,000 people have been employed.

“The production of mining materials increased by 8.1 million tons with the launch of these mines. Metal, non-metal, decorative stones and construction materials are extracted from these mines according to their volume,” he said.

The official emphasized according to the plan for the restoration and development of small mines, 939 mines have been identified in Iran. A number of steps have been taken in connection with 466 mines.

According to Azimi, the activities of 372 mines have been restored, 3,060 mines have been identified and a number of steps have been taken in connection with 1,430 mines since the beginning of the implementation of the plan (from March 21, 2019) to February 8.
