Iran boosts exports via customs of Khoy County

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Mar. 30

The exports through the customs of Khoy County in the West Azerbaijan Province (northwestern Iran) increased by 12 times in terms of value and by 120 percent in terms of volume in the last Iranian year (from March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021), compared to the preceding Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 through March 19, 2020), the Governor of Khoy County Hossein Abbasi told journalists, Trend reports citing IRNA.

According to the governor, 205,000 tons of goods worth $471 million were exported through the customs of Khoy County in the last Iranian year.

“While in the preceding Iranian year, about 95,000 tons of goods worth $40 million were exported through the customs of the county,” he added.

Abbasi stressed that the goods were mainly exported to neighboring countries, including Iraq, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, European countries, including Italy and Romania.

Reportedly, there are 9 border customs in Iran's West Azerbaijan Province. Two of them are located in Khoy County.
