A plant was put into operation in the Esfarayen Industrial Complex in the North Khorasan province of Iran today on Apr. 1, the Managing Director of the complex Ali Molk said, Trend reports citing the IRINN.
He made the remark in an event dedicated to the launch of several industrial and mining facilities in Iran.
The director emphasized that 91 million euro and 1.13 trillion rials (about $26.9 million) was spent on the plant.
Molk added that the production of steel alloys in the complex increased from 120,000 tons to 180,000 tons per year with the launch of this plant.
“In general, 250 people were employed as a result of the launch of this plant,” he said.
The director also noted that the Esfarayen Industrial Complex is part of the Industrial Development & Renovation Organization of Iran (IDRO). The complex is one of the largest producers of steel alloys in the Middle East and can produce 140 types of steel alloys.
On April 1, several industrial and mining facilities were put into operation in five provinces of Iran. More than 45 trillion rials (about $1.07 billion) have been spent on these facilities.
