Azerbaijan plans to expand the export volume of pomegranates to the European countries and the Middle East in 2021, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Pomegranate Producers and Exporters Association Farhad Garashov told Trend.
“The main countries to which Azerbaijani pomegranates are exported are Russia and Ukraine,” chairman of the association said.
"The prices for our products in these markets in 2020 were high,” Garashov said. “Only 10-11 percent of pomegranate products which are produced in Azerbaijan are exported if the volume fully meets the needs of the domestic market. However, there is still a shortage of quality products."
“The main goal of the Association in 2021 is to enter the markets of other European countries through the support of the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO),” chairman of the association said.
The Azerbaijan Pomegranate Producers and Exporters Association launched its activity in November 2016.
