Volume of potato exports from EAEU to Turkmenistan increases

Some 9,684 tons of potatoes were exported to Turkmenistan from the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) from January through February 2021, which is 3.9 times more than the same period last year, Trend reports, citing statistical data of the Eurasian Economic Commission.

The above-mentioned volume was exported in the amount of $1.2 million, which is 93.3 percent more than the number of potato exports by the EAEU countries to Turkmenistan from January through February 2020.

In particular, the export was carried out by such EAEU countries as Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia. Thus, the share of Kazakhstan in the above-mentioned export amount was more than $1 million, Kyrgyzstan-$19,468, and Russia-$125,330.

According to statistics, dried legumes in the amount of 165.7 tons, totaling $69,702, were also supplied to Turkmenistan from the above-mentioned countries in the reporting period.

Thus, the share of Kazakhstan in the above-mentioned export amount was $23,768, Kyrgyzstan-$5,367, and Russia-$40,566.

During the reporting period, Russia also exported 600 kilograms of dried vegetables to Turkmenistan in the amount of $1,414.

Thus, in January 2021, 3,979 tons of potatoes were exported from the EAEU countries to Turkmenistan, which is 5.2 times more than the same period last year.

The above-mentioned volume was exported in the amount of $414,206, which is 2.9 times more than the number of potato exports by the EAEU countries to Turkmenistan in January 2020.

The export was carried out by such EAEU countries as Kazakhstan and Russia. Thus, the share of Kazakhstan in the above-mentioned export amount was $371,542, and Russia $42,663.
