Producers in Iran plan to increase the manufacturing of household appliances in the current Iranian year (from March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), Director General of the Power and Electronic Industries Department of the Iranian Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade Keyvan Gordan told IRNA, Trend reports.
According to Gordan, Iran was expected to manufacture 12 million household appliances last Iranian year (from March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021). However, the manufacturing exceeded 14 million tons, which is an increase of 71 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 through March 19, 2020).
The director general added that the program on increasing the manufacturing of household appliances in the current Iranian year, as well as the export of these goods is being regulated.
“Until about five years ago, Iran imported most of its household appliances. At present, domestic production has replaced imported goods,” he said.
Reportedly, the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran plans to manufacture 1.2 million TVs, 1.9 million refrigerators, 1.05 million water conditioners and 1.08 million washing machines in the current Iranian year.
