Kazakh AK Altynalmas JSC has put the Aksu gold recovery plant into commercial operation in the country’s Akmola region, Trend reports with reference to the company.
The operator of the plant is Aksu Technology LLP, the design and construction of the factory were carried out by AAEngineering Group LLP, both of which are subsidiaries of Altynalmas.
The construction and launch of the new gold recovery plant were implemented as part of sustainable business development initiatives. The Aksu project includes the construction of a gold processing plant, a tailings dump, a shift camp for 600 people, a water conduit to a new storage pond, as well as a new substation and a 110 kV power transmission line.
The implementation of this project made it possible to extend the life of the Aksu site. The capacity of the Aksu plant will amount to 5 million tons of ore per year and will become one of the largest and most advanced gold production plants in Kazakhstan.
The ore processing at the new plant consists of three-stage crushing, two-stage grinding, gravity concentration followed by intensive leaching of gravity concentrate, sorption leaching, desorption by the method of the separated Anglo-American laboratory and electrolysis gold extraction, followed by smelting into a finished product - gold-silver Dore alloy.
The full cycle of the technological process of the new plant is controlled and monitored by the SCADA automated control system, which is successfully operated at the Dolinnoye gold recovery plant in the Karaganda region, launched by the company in 2020.
