Iran sees increase in exports of various goods

The value of Iran's petrochemicals exports increased by 75 percent during the first five months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran, and Head of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI) Hamid Zadboum said, Trend reports citing the organization’s website.

In addition, the exports of Iran’s mining products for the reporting period, also increased by 128 percent in terms of value, compared to the same period last Iranian, according to the deputy minister.

Zadboum added that exports of goods in the manufacturing industry increased by 23 percent in terms of value within 5 months, compared to the same period last Iranian year.

“Over 5 months, the value of exports in the agricultural and food industries decreased by 11 percent, while in carpet and handicraft industries, increased by 8 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian,” he noted.

As reported, Iran's trade turnover with other countries amounted to 59.3 million tons worth $34.2 billion during the first five months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through August 22, 2021). Iran's trade turnover increased by 38 percent in terms of value and 14 percent in terms of volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.

So, Iran exported 45.5 million tons of goods worth $17.6 billion over the reporting period. Compared to the same period last Iranian year, exports increased by 63 percent in terms of value and 20 percent in terms of volume.

Within 5 months, Iran imported 13.8 million tons of goods worth $16.6 billion, which is an increase of 21 percent in terms of value and decreased by 5 percent in terms of volume.

In 5 months, Iran exported 8.88 million tons of petrochemical products worth $4.93 billion, 1.48 million tons of industrial products worth $1.5 billion, and 17.5 million tons of mining products worth $4.88 billion, 7,000 tons of carpets and handicrafts worth $57.3 million, and 3.25 million tons of agricultural and food products worth $1.85 billion.
