A total of 8.41 million tons of goods worth 670 trillion rials (about $15.9 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME), in the 9th month of the current Iranian year (November 22 through December 21, 2021), Trend reports citing IME’s official portal.
This is an increase of 2.2 percent in value, while a decrease of 11 percent in volume, compared to the 8th month of the current Iranian year (October 23 through November 21, 2021).
Meanwhile, in the 8th month, a total of 9.15 million tons of goods worth 655 trillion rials (about $15.6 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME).
According to the statistics, 1.64 million tons of various oil and petrochemical products worth 256 trillion rials (about $6.09 billion) were sold in the oil and petrochemical products section of the IME in the 9th month.
These products were mainly various petrochemical products, including vacuum bottom, bitumen, polymer substances, lube cut, chemicals, sulfur, base oil, slaps wax, argon, and etc.
“In addition, 6.74 million tons of products worth 408 trillion rials (about $9.71 billion) were sold in the industrial and mining products section of the IME over the reporting month,” the statistics said.
According to the statistics, various products, including cement, steel, iron ore, sponge iron, aluminum, zinc, copper, cast iron, molybdenum concentrate, precious metal concentrate, gold bars, and so on were sold in this section.
At the same time, 34,000 tons of various products worth 6.47 trillion rials (about $157 million) were sold in the sub-market section of the exchange in the 9th month, the statistics said.
