BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 4. Iran exported about 293,000 tons of dates worth more than $255 million, during the first 11 months of last Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through February 19, 2022), the Spokesman for the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Rouhollah Latifi said, Trend reports citing the administration.
The spokesman said that Iran is considered one of the world's leading date growers in terms of variety of dates.
“Within 11 months of last year, Iranian dates were exported to more than 70 countries,” Latifi added.
Various types of dates exported by Iran in the first 11 months of last Iranian year:
- Mazafati dates – 127,000 tons worth $141 million
- Zahedi dates – 52,000 tons worth $31.4 million
- Shahani dates – 34,500 tons worth $25.7 million
- Kluteh dates – 27,300 tons worth $16.2 million
- Pyaram dates – 4,100 tons worth $13.2 million
- Estamaran dates – 28,300 tons of worth $11.8 million
- Kabkab dates – 11,400 tons worth $10.2 million
- Khasavi dates – 567 tons worth $444,000
- Barhi dates – 4 tons worth $4,000
- Other types of dates – 7,300 tons worth $5.2 million
