BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 12. Iran's trade turnover with Azerbaijan amounted to about 852,000 tons worth about $608 million, over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), the Spokesman for the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Rouhollah Latifi told Trend.
According to Latifi, the trade turnover between the two countries increased by 93 percent in value, compared to the preceding Iranian year (March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021).
Latifi also added that Iran exported 829,000 tons of goods worth $565 million to Azerbaijan last Iranian year, which is an increase of 11 percent in value, while a decrease of 17 percent in volume compared to the preceding Iranian year.
“Moreover, Iran imported about 22,800 tons of goods worth about $42.6 million from Azerbaijan within last Iranian year. The imports decreased by 40 percent in value and 20 percent in volume, compared to the preceding Iranian year,” the official said.
The spokesman emphasized that trade between Iran and Azerbaijan for the last Iranian year was carried out mainly through Astara customs.
