BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 27. Iran’s exports of minerals and metal products increased by 91 percent in value and 12 percent in volume, over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), compared to the preceding Iranian year (March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021), Chairperson of the Mining Industry Group of Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI), Elaheh Mokri said, Trend reports referring to the organization’s website.
The official said that Iran exported a total of 9.15 million tons of minerals and metal products worth more than $10.5 billion in the last Iranian year.
Mokri also added that Iran exported 6.63 million tons of steel ingots worth $4.15 billion, which accounted for the first place in Iran’s total mineral exports for the last Iranian year.
“In addition, Iran exported long steel products worth $1.62 billion, copper cathode worth $1.35 billion, aluminum ingots worth $607 million, steel rolls worth $494 million, zinc ingots worth $477 million, iron ore concentrate worth $280 million, sponge iron worth $238 million within last Iranian year,” she noted.
