BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 6. The transactions of Iran’s Electronic Card Payment Network Company increased by 13.7 percent in number and 15.4 percent in value in the 8th month of the current Iranian year (October 23 through November 21, 2022), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports citing the company’s website.
According to the report, the company's transactions for 8th months amounted to more than 3.73 billion units worth $7.7 quadrillion rials (about $184 billion).
Meanwhile, transactions in the 8th month increased by 9.31 percent in value and 0.59 percent in number compared to the 7th month of the current Iranian year (September 23 through October 22, 2022).
Thus, a total of 3.71 billion transactions worth 7.05 quadrillion rials (about $168 billion) were carried out in Iran in the 7th month.
More than 92.4 percent of transactions were carried out through POS terminals in trade and catering facilities, 4.8 percent through online payment, and 2.74 percent through mobile applications.
