BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 22. Iran’s non-oil imports through customs of Razavi Khorasan Province in the north-east of the country, decreased by 11 percent in value and 5 percent in volume, during the first two months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through May 21, 2022), compared to the same period in the last year, Supervisor of Razavi Khorasan Province Customs Office Javad Jafari said, Trend reports.

According to Jafari, 31,000 tons of goods worth $88 million were imported via Razavi Khorasan Province’s customs for 2 months.

The official added that the main imported goods consisted of cotton, mobile phones, rice and etc.

He also pointed out that the mentioned products were mainly imported from the UAE, Tajikistan, Türkiye, the Netherlands and China.

"During 2 months, the revenues of province's customs amounted to 2.36 trillion rials (about $56.3 million), which is an increase of 104 percent compared to the same period in the last year," Jafari said.

In general, there are 5 customs in Razavi Khorasan Province of Iran: Dogharoon, Lotfabad, Bajgiran, Sarakhs and Mashhad. The province has a 531 km long common border with Turkmenistan and 302 km long with Afghanistan.

Overall, Iran imported 4.73 million tons of goods worth $7.94 billion within the first 2 months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through May 21, 2022).

This is a decrease of 4.79 percent in value and 8.7 percent in volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.
