Iran shares details on mobile phone imports in 1Q

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 2. Overall, 2.8 million mobile phones worth more than $574 million were imported to Iran, during the first three months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through June 21, 2023), Trend reports.

According to data of Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), 2.65 million mobile phones worth approximately $484 million were imported to the country for trade in 3 months.

Meanwhile, 149,000 mobile phones worth approximately $90.7 million were imported by citizens within the mentioned period.

In general, more than 14.3 million mobile phones worth approximately $3.22 billion were imported to Iran over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023).

Of that, about 13.8 million mobile phones worth $2.87 billion were imported for trade purposes, while 550,000 mobile phones worth $346 million were imported by citizens.

In total, Iran imported 9.6 million tons of goods worth $14 billion within the first three months of the current Iranian year.

This is an increase of 5.79 percent in value and 1 percent in volume compared to the same period in the last year.
