BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 16. Iran imported about 18,600 tons of goods worth approximately $26 million from Uzbekistan during the first four months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through July 22, 2023), Trend reports.
As indicated in the data of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), the imports decreased by 0.7 percent in value while increasing by 34.6 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
So, Iran's imports from Uzbekistan amounted to nearly 13,800 tons worth approximately $26.2 million in the same period of the last Iranian year.
In the 4th month of the current Iranian year alone (June 22 through July 22, 2023), Iran imported 4,950 tons of goods worth $8.67 million from Uzbekistan.
Iran mainly imported cotton, beans, silk, ammonium nitrate, etc. from Uzbekistan during those 4 months.
Overall, Iran imported 11.8 million tons of goods worth $19.5 billion within the first 4 months of the current Iranian year.
This is an increase of 10.8 percent in value and 6.18 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
