BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 11. Iran’s Razavi Khorasan Province, located in the north-east of the country, saw a decline in imports in the first half of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2023), Chairman of Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of Razavi Khorasan Province Amir Reza Rajabi said, Trend reports.
According to him, the value and volume of the province’s imports decreased by 1.5 percent and 26.7 percent, respectively, compared to the same period last year.
The official said that 107,000 tons of goods worth $324 million were imported to the province in six months, while the figures for the same period last year were 146,000 tons and $329 million.
Rajabi also pointed out that the main imported goods were mobile phones, cotton, rice, gold, various kinds of equipment and spare parts, etc.
The chairman noted that the mentioned goods were mainly imported from the UAE, China, the Netherlands, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Türkiye and others.
Overall, Iran imported 17.6 million tons of goods worth $30.4 billion in the first half of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2023). This is an increase of 11.6 percent in value and 6.89 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
