Iran talks funds attracted to its free trade zones

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 5. Iran has attracted investments worth 370 trillion rials (about $8.8 billion) into its free trade zones during the first 8 months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2023), Advisor to the President of Iran and Secretary of the Supreme Council of Free Trade Zones of Iran Hojjatollah Abdolmaleki said, Trend reports.

Abdolmaleki noted that investors have been offered various projects in the free trade and special economic zones, which could attract up to 4.3 quadrillion rials (about $102 billion) of investment in total.

The official also announced 1,000 new projects today (December 5) that require 20 billion euros of investment.

He added that there are no limits on investing in Iran’s free trade zones.

Iran has 8 free trade zones and 32 special economic zones, where 1,850 manufacturing enterprises and 1,280 service enterprises operate.
