The World Bank (WB) delegation led by Maurizio Guadagni, the chief specialist on development of rural areas, is on visit to Baku to work up a project on struggle with bird flu. The sides work up a separate project, which will be financed at the expense of the saved funds ($5.14m) within the Institution Building Technical Assistance (IBTA-2), the WB Baku Office told Trend. At present the sides solve legal issues on restructuring of IBTA-2 loan.

The WB representation thinks that development and approval of the project will take long time. WB approved speeded-up and simplified procedure, which would be used for approval of the project on struggle with bird flu in case of crisis situation. It will take 1.5 or 2 months. The acceleration of process also depends on the Azerbaijani government.

The WB mission will stay in the country till 11 March. It works with the State Commission on prevention of bird flu in Azerbaijan and coordination of joint activities of all bodies in this sphere.
