Basic inflation on first methodology over first half-year high 2.5%

According to the National Bank of Azerbaijan (NBA), in the first half-year of 2006 the basic inflation was 6.5% as compared to 2005.

The NBA told Trend that, in June the growth pace of consumer price index made up 0.6% against May, while it was 4.3% - as compared to December 2005. The calculations were made through the first methodology, which takes into consideration the alternation of administratively regulated prices (energy prices) and seasonal prices (fruits and vegetables

).

On the second calculation methodology, which removes fluctuation of prices smoothing sharp tendency, basic inflation was 4%. While calculating this figure the NBA cleaned by 16% from the basket the amount of goods and services, which have administrative prices and seasonal prices (fruit and vegetable). Rise observed in June was 2% as compared to June, while it was fixed at 2.8% as compared to the end of the year.

According to State Statistics Committee, in the first half-year the growth pace of inflation made up 6%.
