Kamaz to open truck plant in Iran

(AFX) - Russian truck maker Kamaz will open a plant in Iran next month, according to company director Irek Goumerov.

The plant will reach its full annual capacity of 1,500 vehicles in two years, Goumerov told Interfax news agency.

Kamaz signed a contract last year with Iranian company Rakhsh Khodro to build the factory, Interfax said.

Kamaz already has plants in Azerbaijan, Ethiopia, Kazakhstan, Poland, Ukraine and Vietnam.
