Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend I.Khalilova / Farhad Aliyev, the Executive Director of the Azerbaijani Banks of Association (ABA), stated on 20 June that the ABA postponed the conference on the ratification of the Association's new charter to mid-July. Earlier, the meeting of the ABA was scheduled for June, but due to problems within the Association the date was postponed.
The project of the charter has already been agreed upon by all of the association's members. The document passed preliminary ratification during the presidium of the ABA, held on 20 April. The project and strategic plans of the ABA - the main functioning and institutional development directions for 2007 to 2011 was issued in the latest volume of the 'Bank and Business' magazine. Both documents will be ratified at the conference.
Aliyev noted that the presidium would be held before the next meeting.
In compliance with the project of the charter, the presidium and auditory committee of the ABA will be summoned for a five-year term. The presidium is to be held every quarter.
