Some 840 People Registered with Lankaran Employment Centre in January-June

Azerbaijan, Lankaran / Тrend corr P. Aliyeva / In January-June 2007, 838 people registered with Lankaran (Azerbaijani region) Employment Centre, with 635 of them looking for a job.

The Director of Lankaran Employment Centre, Gagai Mammadov, reported that of those who registered, 482 people (141 women) who registered were provided with jobs owing to the Centre.

192 citizens were provided with jobs in the construction field, 26 in services, 48 in industry, 12 in education, 131 in health protection, 8 in communications and transport, 3 in culture and 13 in other fields. 375 of those who found a job were young men under 35. Mammadov noted that during the same period, more attention was paid to citizens who urgently required social security. In the first half of the year 47 people (24 women), who were provided with jobs, were sent to areas specified by the quota. At present 49 people are receiving social security.
