Azerbaijan, Baku, 7 February / Trend / The Baku Shipyard of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) will repair the Astra rig owned by the Russian LUKOIL company, SOCAR reported on 7 February.
A 6-ton underwater section of the rig, its body and mechanisms will be repaired. The rig has been already delivered to Baku.
In 1985, the rig was constructed in Finland for the USSR. It was used for the drilling of prospect wells, up to 70m below the surface in the northern part of the Caspian Sea.
The Baku Shipyard has been operating since 1989. Each year the plant repairs up to 22 vessels. The plant has the international certificates ISO-9001 and ISO-14001-2004.
