Azerbaijan, Baku, 13 May / Trend corr. I.Alizade / Ogtay Asadov, Speaker of Azerbaijani Parliament, will discuss the perspectives of implementation of the project on construction of the gas pipeline Nabucco and country's possibilities on gas transport produced from Shah Daniz field in Bulgaria, Parliament Department on International Relations said.
Asadov will pay an official visit to Bulgaria on 19 May. Asadov's visit will be implemented by the invitation of Georgi Pirinsk, Bulgarian Parliament Speaker.
Asadov will discuss the issues on relations between the parliaments of the both countries, as well as the cooperation within the framework of international organizations. Within the framework of the visit the Azerbaijani Speaker will meet with Georgi Pirvanov, Bulgarian President and Sergey Stanishev, Prime Minister.
The Nabucco gas pipeline will ensure the gas delivery via the Mediterranean and Caspian Sea to Europe via Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey, Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania, and Austria. Nabucco will transport gas from Azerbaijan and Central Asia to the EU. The gas from Central Asia to Nabucco may be delivered via the planned Tran-Caspian pipeline. The Trans-Caspian gas pipeline will extend to Azerbaijan, where the gas reserves are expected to comprise 6trln cu m, from the Caspian coast of Kazakhstan or Turkmenistan. The Mediterranean gas from Azerbaijan to the end of the Nabucco pipeline is delivered via the currently existing South Caucasus gas pipeline (Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum).
The consortium on the construction of the pipeline unites OMV Gas GmbH ( Austria), Botas ( Turkey), Bulgargaz ( Bulgaria), S.N.T.G.N. Transgaz S.A. ( Romania), MOL Natural Gas Transmission Company Ltd. ( Hungary) and RWE (German).
