Ukraine's state energy firm Naftogaz said on Thursday unpaid local debts owed to it are threatening its ability to pay for Russian gas. Ukraine and Russia signed a 2009 supply deal last month after a three-week standoff over Naftogaz' unpaid debts and new prices that led to supply cuts to Europe, affecting residents and businesses, Reuters reported.
