The reputation of Georgia as a transit state, did not suffer - U.S. Ambassador in Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan, Astana, February 20 / Trend K. Konyrova / Georgia's reputation as a reliable transit state after the Russian-Georgian conflict last summer, was not affected, told Trend , U.S. Ambassador to Kazakhstan Richard Hougland.

 

"In fact, since the conflict, starting from August of last year, oil companies in Kazakhstan have expressed strong interest in the delivery of oil to the west from Azerbaijan through Georgia", - said Hougland.

 

According to him, in October, the largest producer of oil in Kazakhstan "TengizShevroil" began sending oil through the pipeline Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline.

 

"TCO continues to supply large volumes of hydrocarbons through Georgia by rail. It also negotiates with interested parties in Azerbaijan on the use of the Baku-Supsa pipeline ", - said American diplomat.
