The Turkmendenizderyayollari (Turkmen marine fleet) State Department signed a contract with the Russian Krasnoe Sormovo Plant Open Joint Stock Company (OJSC) to build and purchase two ships of river-sea type with 7,000 tons of capacity to transport oil and oil products, each worth $15.5 million.
The Islamic Development Bank (IDB) issued these funds for 11 years with 5.1 percent of interest rate with the condition to implement the project within a year.
At present Turkmenistan is exporting oil and oil products via Azerbaijan and Iran.
