According to the agreement on fuel and energy complexes signed between the governments of Kazakhstan and Russia, 7 million tons of Russian oil will be transported to Kazakhstan in 2009, head of the oil transportation department of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of Kazakhstan Beksultan Zhaliyev said on August 12.
"This year's import of Russian oil to Kazakhstan will total seven million tons, as well as the oil will be processed on the Pavlodar refinery," said Zhaliyev.
Built already in the period of the USSR, the refinery was designed to process Russian oil from Western Siberia. Now the refinery is working only on the Russian oil.
