Gas consumption stabilizes in Baku

At present daily gas consumption in Baku averagely makes up 3.4 million cubic meters compared to 3.5 million as for Aug. 11, the PU Bakgaz (distribution and sale of gas in Baku) said. Earlier Azerigaz CJSC as PU was included in the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR).

Last week, gas consumption increased in Baku due to bad weather conditions.

"The weather condition has been normalized. Presently, daily gas consumption is averagely 3.4 million cubic meters per day," the source said A while ago, consumption even fell to 3.2 million cubic meters per day," the source said.

In January-July PU Bakgaz (distribution and sale of gas in Baku) provided more than 1.6 billion cubic meters of gas to the gas system of the city, the source said earlier.

In July, over 109 million cubic metre of gas was transferred to the gas system of Baku, compared to over 114 million cubic metre in June. This figure amounted to roughly 141 million cubic meters in May.

Last year, Bakgas transferred about 2.45 billion cubic metre of gas to the gas system of Baku.

In previous years, the joint venture shifted to summer season from the mid of April and to winter season from November 15. The daily gas consumption in summer season is 3-4 million cubic metre, whicle the figure reaches 10-13 million cubic metre in winter season.
