SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) pumped about 2.1 million tons of oil via Baku-Novorossiysk in January-October, 2009, SOCAR said.
In October the company transported about 248,000 tons of oil via this pipeline, a source in the oil and gas market said.
SOCAR intends to increase export of oil via this pipeline up to 2.5 million tons in 2009 compared to 1.3 million tons in 2008.
About 1.2 million tons of oil was exported via this route in 2007. This index is similar with the index of 2006. Export hit 1.6 million tons via this pipeline in 2005.
SOCAR's oil extracted in its field independently, as well as oil of joint enterprises and operation companies working onshore is exported via Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline.
