Turkey regards the current price of the Azerbaijani gas not acceptable, and will buy gas at a new agreed price, Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Taner Yildiz was quoted as saying by the Turkish news agency reported.
"Since aprr.15, 2008, Turkey does not purchase gas from Azerbaijan at a price that it believes is unacceptable. We will buy gas at an agreed price. We have informed Azerbaijan about it. We believe that the current price of gas will not long remain unchanged. We will be ready to increase the gas price purchased from Azerbaijan, as we previously included in the calculations of the new price. But we have offered a price that satisfies the interests of our country, and do not adversely affect the interests of Azerbaijan ", he added.
According to him, work on the Nabucco project continues on schedule.
Turkey should begin receiving nuclear energy he added.
"2010 will be a year of nuclear power development in the country," Yildiz said.
