Europe will require a stable supply gas in the future and therefore need to find diversified sources of transporting the fuel, said Luca Della Gatta, Head of Global Gas Sourcing, OMV Gas & Power GmbH.
"Europe records decline in domestic (gas) production and we have to consider other possibilities (import), such as the Caspian region and others," he said.
According to him, Caspian region is seen as the most attractive in terms of gas reserves.
"Importance of the Caspian region growth with the decline of domestic production (natural gas in Europe), since the region has large reserves," Gatta said.
