PM: Georgia, U.S. discuss power supply to Iraq

Georgia and the U.S. are discussing export of power to Iraq, Prime Minister Nika Gialuri said today in Washington during his speech at the Atlantic Council of the United States. Transit will be carried out through Turkey.

According to Gilauri, this issue has already been discussed with the U.S.Deputy Minister of Energy.

"This discussion indicates that Georgia becomes a small regional power center," Gialuri said.
Gilauri said that the proposed project is interesting for the United States, Iraq, Georgia and Turkey.

"Other countries in the region can join to it in the future," he stressed.
