Azerbaijan, Baku, Oct. 25 / Trend E. Ismayilov /

SOCAR operated underwater to transfer underwater infrastructure within the construction of a two-block gas-lift platform on the field "Guneshli" (shallow part) in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea to obtain the necessary data, a source in SOCAR said.

He said that diving operations were conducted to transfer the infrastructure. However, bad weather conditions and lack of necessary equipment hamper to transfer the infrastructure.

"The two blocks will be installed. But the site of the platform has not been prepared yet. The infrastructure, communications, and in particular, the existing oil and gas pipelines must be transferred to install these blocks. But bad weather conditions and lack of necessary equipment hamper to transfer the infrastructure now, " a source said.

Both blocks of the platform have been prepared for delivery.

One of the blocks was built at the Baku Heydar Aliyev Deep Water Jacket Plant, the second one on the basis of the bearing block Guneshli-20 unused since 1990.

This platform will be installed in Guneshli on the depth of 90-92 meters, 50 meters of existing Guneshli-4 platform. A foot bridge will connect the platforms. A social infrastructure, including a living block, a dining-room, a reserve oil-rig and helipad will be common for both platforms in accordance with the project.

The topsides of the new platform will be used for technical needs. A new gaslift station, consisting of eight cars will be built there. The gas pressure of 125 atmospheres will be pumped into reservoirs with the help of this station.

The topsides including compressor station and the entire industrial infrastructure will be designed and manufactured abroad.

The project of a hydrotechnical bearing was prepared by SOCAR's scientific-research and design institute Neftqazelmitеdqiqatlayihе.
