The information by mass media about that Royal Dutch Shell closes its offices in Kazakhstan does not correspond to reality, a source at the Kazakhstan office of Shell in Astana told Trend.

"The information spread by several Kazakh media outlets with reference to the British The Telegraph newspaper about our alleged withdrawal from the Kashagan project, based on the fact that we are closing our offices, do not correspond to reality. Rather, the conclusions are erroneous and distorted the true situation. However, the information in The Telegfaph was picked up by other publications, and "snowball" has appeared, which is cluttered with new rumors every day," said the source from the office in Astana.

Earlier this month, British newspaper The Telegraph reported that in late June, the Royal Dutch Shell will close office in the Caspian region, freezing the project worth $50 billion for at least two years.
