Azerbaijan will produce over 29 billion cubic meters of gas in 2012 compared to 26 billion cubic meters in 2010, SOCAR reported today at an exhibition dedicated to the country's independence.
The exhibition organized at Baku Expo Center is dedicated to the restoration of state independence of Azerbaijan.
Of the total amount expected to be reached in 2012, 8 billion cubic meters will be produced by SOCAR and the rest - gas produced in Azerbaijan jointly with foreign companies.
Based on the forecasts, Azerbaijan's gas production will exceed 30 billion cubic meters in 2013.
Azerbaijan's gas production is projected at 26 billion cubic meters and above in 2011.
Bulk of the country's gas production is accounted for gas produced from the Shah Deniz gas condensate field and associated gas from the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli fields. Part of the country's gas production accounts for SOCAR, which produces it from own fields.
