Baku Deep Water Jacket Plant named after Heydar Aliyev of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) is building a new platform to be installed in the shallow part of the "Guneshli" offshore field, SOCAR said on Friday.
According to the report, the new platform will be designed for drilling of 12 wells and will be located at a depth of 140-150 meters. The platform will include helipad, wharf, apartment complex, fire-control system that meets up-to-date requirements, biological water treatment installation and other necessary equipment.
Four oil wells and eight gas condensate wells will be drilled from platform with seismic resistance of 9 points.
The "Guneshli" field is on the balance of "28 May" Oil and Gas Production Department.
The shallow part of the Guneshli field is developed by SOCAR at its own expense, and the deep part within the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli block jointly with a consortium of foreign companies.
