Azerbaijan invited to Black Sea Forum

The Atlantic Council invited Azerbaijan to take part in the Black Sea Energy and Economic Forum held in Istanbul on Nov.16-18. US Atlantic CounciL CEO Frederick Kempe voiced invitation at a meeting with the Industry and Energy Minister Natig Aliyev in Baku.

Kempe asked the Industry and Energy Ministry to participate in this forum. Aliyev informed the guest about energy projects in Azerbaijan and achieved successes. Noting Azerbaijan's growing influence in the region and the world, Kempe provided detailed information about the activities of the Atlantic Council.

The Black Sea Energy and Economic Forum in Istanbul is one of the most successful initiatives of the Atlantic Council. The Forum annually brings together business leaders and prominent political leaders to discuss economic and energy issues in Eurasia.

The Atlantic Council intends to hold the next Black Sea Energy and Economic Forum in Baku in 2012.

Established in 1961 the Atlantic Council is an influential structure that promotes transatlantic cooperation and international security.
