Azerbaijan, Baku, November 25 / Trend, E. Ismailov /

BP will begin to repair new production well SDA-06 next April though the works should have begun in November-December this year.

A source said repair work will be carried out to eliminate problems with arrangement of the well injection.

Earlier test commissioning of the new SDA-06 production well on the Azerbaijani Shah Deniz gas and condensate field revealed the presence of complications on the well and the well was suspended.

"After repair work drilling rig will be transferred to start drilling of the side-hole on the SDA-03 well," the source said.

As BP said before, work on drilling side-hole is planned to be completed in the first quarter 2012. Earlier the well SDA-03 was partially suspended due to bad technical state.

Peak production is forecasted at 9 billion cubic meters within the first phase of the development.

The Shah Deniz field's gas reserves are estimated at 1.2 trillion cubic meters, while condensate - 240 million tons.

The contract to develop the offshore Shah Deniz field was signed on June 4, 1996. Participants to the agreement are: BP (operator) - 25.5 percent, Statoil - 25.5 percent, NICO - 10 percent, Total - 10 percent, LukAgip - 10 percent, TPAO - 9 percent, SOCAR-10 percent.
