Libyan Sirte Port starts oil supplies

Libyan Sirte Port started oil supplies to the Brega city, National Oil Company (NOC) of Libya said.

Oil from the Port will be supplied by tankers and will be processed.

As of late December, Libyan oil production hit more than 500,000 barrels per day. Production level is expected to grow to half of pre-war levels next month and will return to full capacity by late 2012 or early 2013.

Libya plans to increase oil production to one million barrels per day within 2 months.

Before the Libyan crisis, the country produced 1.6 million barrels per day and 1.3 million barrels of these volumes were exported.
