The agreement revealed the construction of coal-fired power plant with a capacity of 160 MW.
The Thermal power plant will produce one billion KW per year and supply the local and foreign markets with electricity, the director of the Georgian Industrial Group Natiya Turnava told press after the signing ceremony.
"As many as 300 local workers will be involved in the construction with 100 being retained after completion, "she said. The draft of the new facility is under development and its construction will cost $100 million.
"There has never been such a large thermal power plant in Georgia and this project is also important due to the fact that it will run on local coal that is extracted from Tkibuli," Ms Turnava added.
