Some 3.5 million liters of jet fuel is consumed per day in Iran, Mehr news agency quoted an aviation industry official as saying on Sunday.
Mohammad Reza Abdorrahimi added that each barrel of jet fuel is priced at 133 dollars.
Iran has launched a fuel jet production unit at the Shazand Oil Refinery, with the daily production capacity of some 6 million liters, meeting the Euro-4 standards, an official with the National Iranian Oil Production and Distribution Company stated.
Speaking to Mehr news agency, Rashid Seyedian added that the unit is producing 4.2 million liters of premium jet fuel in the first phase.
Iran started hiking up its jet fuel production capacity after U.S. imposed sanctions on Iran aimed at choking off Tehran's access to imports of refined petroleum products like jet fuel and curbing its access to the international banking system
