Azerbaijan has tried hard to use its energy resources as a tool to strengthen its independence, Deputy Foreign Minister, Rector of Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy (ADA), Hafiz Pashayev said at the opening of 2012 Baku Summer Energy School on Monday.

He said as a result one can see now how Azerbaijan is developing rapidly.

The Summer School aims at providing opportunities for foreign listeners to become better acquainted with the Caspian region and ongoing projects, Pashayev said.

"We want to provide more information about Azerbaijan and its realities to the School listeners," Pashayev said.

The participants come from Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bulgaria, Germany, India, Iraq, Israel, Italy, Moldova, Norway, Holland, Romania, Russia, Switzerland, Turkey, UAE and the U.S.
